I have received a couple of comments from one person regarding the post "Six Consequences If Proposition 8 Fails in California" claims that the list is false especially when it comes to our Religious Liberty.
One of the items in that list talks about the "Catholic Charities in Boston". This group was forced to end it's adoption program because they have refused to place children in a same-sex residence. This program is 103 years old and because Massachusetts courts enforced a law that says the Catholic Church of Boston cannot do this.
Also, a similar case happened here in California! and the poster that says that the law suites wont happen are happening. How can the Six Consequences If Proposition 8 Fails in California be false??
Just to prove that the claims are false and unfounded, heres the link to the Washington Times Editorial that talks about this. If you don't believe what I write, then at least do your own research!
Oh, for those of you that are reading this, this same poster in his own blogg and here, claims to have posted a comment by a writer who is LDS and that our Tithing is being used to support Proposition 8. He obviously does not understand what Tithing is for. Tithing is for the building and maintenance of LDS buildings such as Temples, Chapels. Tithing is NOT used to support political activities such as Proposition 8, it never has and never will be! Sure I've heard my Bishop ask the congregation to donate to support Prop 8 either by using a tithing slip and indicate what it's for or donating on-line at the Support Prop 8 web site. The monies collected at church in a tithing envelope will be passed to those that are working on Prop 8.
So, if you don't want your tax dollars being used in the courts to fight for what is morally wrong, vote YES on Proposition 8 this November. Either way, your decision will be based on what you believe to be true and not on what someone else thinks you should vote.
